Injecrapy:A clinical trial of the new Celebrex-associated skin rash treatment is set to start this year in Sweden, and will give new hope to many with the condition.
The Swedish Medicines Agency is recommending that the treatment be withdrawn for the condition because of possible increased risk of skin irritation. The drug, which was approved last year, has the potential to cause skin rashes that can be fatal.
Celebrex, also known as celecoxib, is a Cox-2 inhibitor, and it was developed to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
It is also being tested in the treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which is the most common type of arthritis. It is also used to treat other conditions, such as osteoarthritis.
